Katarzyna Wiwer with her immaculate breath control and impeccable intonation is one of the best young sopranos for baroque interpretation that I have heard in Poland. She graces her performance with style of phrasing and delicacy of decoration that gives great pleasure to all who hear her.

Kasia is a most compelling performer, whatever the role. Nothing less than total commitment in whatever the music, with a wonderfully fresh approach. If it is comic or tragic, or just beautiful, she brings another, personal dimension. Her enthusiasm is infectious, making all the cast and musical colleagues to be re-inspired. Every performance is like a first discovery. This skill and talent is quite rare, and she has it in abundance. Without doubt, Kasia is one of the very best singers I had the pleasure of working with over 15 years of directing masques and operas at the Dartington International Summer School.

Anthony Rooley

Katarzyna Wiwer studied singing at the Krakow Academy of Music, where she graduated in 1994. Katarzyna has also taken numerous courses in interpretation, both in Poland and abroad, including masterclasses led by Emma Kirkby and Evelyn Tubb. She has a particular fondness for early music, but readily performs later music suited to her voice.
Her rich and wide repertoire includes many choice compositions from Monteverdi, Zieleński, Buxtehude, English baroque songs, numerous Bach cantatas, many oratorio parts (Bach's Passions, Mass in b-minor, Magnificat, Handel's Messiah, Haydn's Creation or Mozart's Requiem) as far as symphonic compositions like Mahler's IV Symphony or Gorecki III.
Katarzyna is in great demand in Poland and abroad both as a soloist and with many ensembles such as Harmonia Sacra, Ars Antiqua Austria, Capriccio Basel and in collaboration with amongst others Paul Esswood, Anthony Rooley and Joshua Rifkin. Since 1994, she has worked with the Krakow-based ensemble,Capella Cracoviensis. Other activities include chamber music and solo recitals with lute, harpsichord or piano accompaniment.
